  • I have a question for you; what do YOU do when you encounter your emotions?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

👉🏻Do you engage with them through judgment?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏻Do you go straight into analyzing them, trying to figure them out? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .
👉🏻Do you go straight to seeking a higher purpose?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏻Do you go straight into positive thinking?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

👉🏻Do you distract or keep yourself busy, to get out of them, because you don’t want to feel the way you are feeling?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✔️ If you answered yes to any of these, then you tend to resist & ultimately bypass your emotions and that my friend, leads to suppression which when done long enough turns into what we call depression.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🌀Here is the thing, E-motion is energy in motion. Therefore by the very definition e-motions are meant to move through us.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You gotta feel them, babe! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When a feeling comes up; name it, say how you are feeling aloud to yourself ( I am feeling insecure right now) holding space for the emotion, allow yourself to express it fully. Resist the temptation to judge or analyze your feelings or the situation that is triggering them. When we attempt to figure out our feelings or judge them it interrupts & prevents our full expression of them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The key is to Feel, not think. That’s why they are called feelings.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🤷‍♀️Too often we do the opposite. We will feel our thoughts and think our feelings. A thought comes in, and we believe the thought and therefore, feel the thought as real. And when emotions come up we'll think our way out of them. Isn’t that interesting…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When you resist your emotions, they get stuck in your (physical body and energetic field) and they'll keep coming back to get your attention & keep you experiencing similar situations. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Emotions are energy, energy is vibration and vibrations hang in your energetic field making it your point of attraction. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • How many times have you heard a misrepresentation of self-care? Yes, I am taking care of myself. “ I just went on an awesome vacation!” “ I took a day and pampered myself I bought myself new shoes, a new book and had a bubble bath”

And although these things are perfectly fine and needed at times. SHit, I love a great facial or massage as much as the next person. But I don’t ever mistake these kinds of pleasures for basic self-care. .

💆🏻‍♀️Self care is less external and more internal. It’s an every day, moment to moment thing... .
.
👩‍👦It’s about nurturing yourself from within. It’s about reparenting yourself.  It’s about feeling your emotions with out trying to fix or analyze them. It’s about surrounding yourself with people who uplift you. .
.
👄It’s about talking to your inner critic and having compassion towards yourself instead of judging yourself. It’s about listening to your inner child and giving it what he or she needs.

 #Selfcare is about giving yourself permission to be free to, to dream and to act on your desires. To use your voice and ask for what you want.

  • Have you’ve ever stopped to ask: What is true beauty? What makes a person light up a room when they walk in? 🌹True beauty has nothing to do with physical attributes of a person. Beauty is not a physical thing, it’s an internal thing that radiates from the inside out.  It has everything to do with how you feel (your energy) which determines how you’ll act and show up in the world. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The simple yet complex truth is, how we see ourselves and how we talk to ourselves is the most important ingredient to beauty.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are moments when someone just walks into a room. He or she may not be the most attractive person in that room, but there is just something magnetic about the person, that draws you in, that goes beyond physical-it’s an ENERGY. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you’ve experienced this, then you know what I am talking about. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

There’ve been times when I’m not feeling great internally maybe I’m self doubting, I’m in self judgement, I’m NOT pursing the things I’m passionate about or I’m not being true to myself. And what do you know, it affect’s the way I show up externally. Because no matter how I dress,  how I look or how hard I try.  My light dims and I don’t radiate. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then there are times when internally I feel free, I’m being true to myself, and I’m honoring my needs, I’m being compassionate towards myself, And I’d go out in sweats and t-shirt, looking sorta of homeless; only to find myself being a people magnet 🧲
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Only I would think to myself  how can they find me attractive, have they not seen how I look right now?  But during those times my inner beauty was piercing through and it no longer mattered how I was dressed, or whether I had makeup on or not. Those things become irrelevant when you are radiating internally. When you are in a space of self acceptance. Everything changes, your own self acceptance and confidence brings out a glow of beauty, that no outer beauty can compete with.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You are #enough,  your #beauty starts from #within. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👇🏼 How do you define beauty?
  • I meet many people who say they want to and are ready to change their life. But the truth is, they want ( wanting being the operative word) they want the results but not the process.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are many of you who buy courses and go to seminars but then don’t actually do the work that’s being taught... You say you want to be healthy & have more energy.  But you have all these ‘reasons’ for why you can’t start now.
.
You say you want to write a book or start a business yet you haven’t started to write, you haven’t started that business.  You’re still thinking about it. Talking about it. Planning it out in your mind. Trying to figure out 'how' you’re going to make it happen. And that can make you feel like your doing something. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
. .
🚨But the truth is (#sorrynotsorry) If I offend you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💣 You’re not doing shit. You’re stuck in the mind. Trying to avoid something that you fear.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what’s the solution? Just start! Take action
.

✍🏼Want to write a book? But you don’t know where to start, you don’t think you’re a good writer. Maybe you think you need to get some training first. Or you need to do more research and planning before you can start. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.
💯Great.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🛑 In the meantime, start writing. Write to practice, write to get into the habit.  To get into a flow state. Write to gain clarity. Write to get better. Write because that’s the whole point of writing a book. You need to WRITE.

If you just set aside time every day to write, for the sake of writing itself without trying to figure out how you’re going to make it happen. The next steps will reveal themselves to you.  I’m not saying you can’t plan, research, take courses but too often we  stay in the planning phase, living in the mind. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Instead, take action and start with what’s most readily available for you at that moment. This applies to anything you say you want to do. I say this from experience because I too have been there.

  • There came a time during my inner-work where I was overloading myself with external information without reflecting.  I learned that you need a period of rest in between all the gathering.

You need to pause long enough to process all the information gathered from the outside world, work through it internally and then put it into action.

You need to do this without anyone or anything there to lead you to believe that whatever understanding you come to on your own, is wrong.

I went through the process of having to stop reading, talking to people, seeking opinions, advice and even spiritual guidance - otherwise, how could I ever really get back to a place of trusting MY VOICE, if I kept seeking outside of myself?

And another thing I realized during that time is that when you spend too much time “gathering information” it can actually do more harm than good because you get stuck in the mind, living from the mind rather than taking action.  And taking action is what creates energy and brings about change into your life.

Sometimes even the inner work can become the excuse you use to not move into action.

Once you remember that you are the master of it all, you can have it all.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🙌🏼Trust yourself and believe you can create what you want. Just remember that when you ask for something, you will find yourself going through unexpected changes to prepare you for having it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🛑 The Universe will start to send you many experiences to facilitate whatever changes you must undergo. Be it, you need to let go of certain things. Release a thought, a friend, a habit or have change of perception all together. And at times it may feel like the Universe isn’t on your side or that things just seem to get harder for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✔️But the Universe is always on your side and it wants to give things to you but only when you are ready and when it will be for your highest good. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

👉🏻For example you may want a lot of money  or a fulfilling relationship but the Universe may not make that available to you right away, if you’re not ready to handle it and if it’s not gonna be for your highest good.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

👣 Instead, it will prepare you along the way through bringing you different opportunities, and experiences so that when it does come in, it’ll benefit your growth...
  • I want to remind you of something I recently shared within the CreatingWithin Mastermind group. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

A big, big part of owning your power is about taking responsibility for your life and I know you’ve probably heard this a million times over and for some of you this might make you cringe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Because for a lot of us the word responsibility carries a negative connotation, it feels heavy and burdensome which is why I want to offer you a new way to define the word responsibility. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The word responsibility just means your ability to respond. Responsibility does not mean that something is your fault, it just means your ability to respond.

So when I say that to own your power, you need to own responsibility for everything that has happened in your life, I’m not saying that everything ‘bad’ that has happened in your life is your fault because they don’t go hand in hand but it is your responsibility to decide ‘how’ you will respond to life itself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As I shared a few stories of my past with the ladies in our group. It wasn’t my fault that my dad wasn’t in my life for fifteen years, it wasn’t my fault that I was molested as a child, it wasn’t my fault that my mother almost died when I was in High School and that I spent an entire year living alone because she was lying in a hospital bed in between life and death. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.
❌None of those things were my fault but it was my responsibility to figure out how I was going to overcome those traumas, it was my responsibility to learn how to deal with the pain and make a life out it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Responsibility is power, it puts you in the driver seat of your life. Taking responsibility for myself and my life is one of the greatest gifts I have been able to give myself and its helped me not fall victim to my circumstances… ⠀⠀⠀
🙌🏼
And so today I encourage you to look at your life and see where are you not owning responsibility, a hint is look to an area where you find yourself blaming something or someone for how you feel or where you find yourself...
  • I thank the Universe today as I always do for all that it provides me with. And even more when it reveals itself to me. It's such an overwhelming feeling of gratitude that envelops me in those moments where I am able to see and understand the inner workings of both worlds and how they interconnect. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I walk with love and appreciation in my heart, reminding myself everyday of the importance of balance and of walking the middle path.  Yet, not making myself wrong for the moment's in which I live in one world more than the other and get off balance.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The work is to live in awareness, in the present moment. Because it is only HERE & NOW that one can truly LIVE. Inspiration and insight are found only in the NOW. Not in your mind but  here in the present moment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yet everyday you are being challenged to keep up with the demands all around you. Our minds are cluttered with non-sense, with to do lists, with useless chatter and distractions that it becomes difficult to live in awareness more times than not. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But that is the work and if you do your best each day to bring awareness to yourself, little by little it will start becoming second nature. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve made it my life long goal, because nothing else really matters. Life only truly comes alive when we are tuned into our spirit.
